Many of the channels added in the last three months have little or any actual HD pogramming. This has allowed Cabelvision to claim increases in HD without giving up additional bandwith space. You should never judge a book by its cover.

Um, regardless of the actual HD content, the non SDV channels are running at 720p or 1080i thus consuming bandwidth!

I'm starting to question the validity of this press release.
At this moment, NOBODY has confirmed it or reported it.  People within Cablevision tell me that they never heard about it.  And the only 'talk' has been more HBO channels in HD prior to Christmas.

We'll have to sit and wait.

Also, here's confirm for the MTV suite and NHL HD additions

These channels suck.  I haven't seen one actual show that is being filmed or displayed in HD.
The weird thing is that "The Hills" are being shown in 16:9.  I though because of that it would be in HD, but it is not.

TWC in Staten Island is adding HBOs, Cinemax aleady have Starz HD.  Cablevision is the only provider that doesn't have these channels.  Go figure.

SUCKIEST HD additions ............... EVER!

Most shows are not in HD.  These are channels nobody watches.  FuseHD is owned by CV.  That's why it was added.

Has anyone else even FuseHD besides Cablevision?
From what I have seen they are not even doing real HD.
Everything looks like they are using stretch-o-vision.

I agree on the comments about Fuse - a couple shows are listed as HD but most everything else is stretched. As far as the MTV suite channels (VH-1, MTV and CMTV) they are all non-HD as far as I've seen. It makes you wonder why they would choose to add these particular channels given other services have much more HD programming available and are more popular in choice.

It seems with the Cablevision affiliated entities (AMC, WE, IFC and now Fuse) they seem to go with the cheaper option of just stretching the programming for the most part. It is a very different path taken compared to the VOOM channels which clearly take the time and cost to reformat even the older classic movies into true HD providing a much better viewing experience.

Agreed - great job!

I do have a question - when I checked the link attached for the notification, it still lists MOJO in the channel listings - I thought this was going away on December 1st?

VH1-HD
MTV-HD
Fuse-HD
CMT-HD

So far of the the HD Music channels added, I've only seen HD on FUSE and it isn't really even HD.  They either zoom and up-convert it a bit or put their logo on the bars on the side, like ESPN does.  I have to give credit to FUSE for trying though.  You can't say the same about the Viacom music channels.
